Family Reunion - Warner's or Bust!

The last few days of June we spent at Warner's Hot springs, CA for a family reunion. Most everyone drove down but we flew. We knew that Aunt Fessy and Cousin Dave were flying out around the same time we were...we didn't know that not only we they on our plane BUT they were seated RIGHT behind us!!! That made the flight MUCH more fun... We were really good on the plane - Abby didn't like take off or landing but that was the only time she cried.
Abby says "Pass the chips over! I'm on vacation!"
We had several cabins in the same cul-de-sac (and a few in the cul-de-sac next door). We all met on the big grassy area out front to BBQ and play.

Did we mention that Uncle Josh can juggle and do card and magic tricks? We did? Well it never gets old!!!

I played and ran and played and ran and one night I came up to Mommy and said "You have to put me to bed right now!" Everyone slept great!

It was so much fun to play with my cousins...we even got to play with Jake, he is in the plaid shirt. He is mommy's cousin, Julie's little boy, he is just a few months younger than me. He fit right in.

Me and my Sara...I like to say "Abby's my friend but Sara is my girl."

Sara and Jake swim a lot but not me. It took some coaxing for me to get into the pool - but once I was there it was SO fun! My favorite part of the pool were the big coolers of water. I liked to go and get everyone cups of water to drink.

This is the cold pool at Warner's hot springs. It wasn't that cold though - it was really warm.
There is a hot pool right next to it (from the original Indian hot spring - but it was too hot for kids to get in)

At first Abby and I were scared to go into the big pool. So Grandma brought us a little pool to play in. Abby wasn't even sure of that but finally got in and had fun.

She didn't want to wear her bathing suit though - she DID insist on wearing the little wrap around skirt that came with it though...don't worry we were in the shade and had LOTS and LOTS of sunscreen on.

Mommy finally convinced Abby to get in the big pool with her. Mommy had this really neat sling type floaty toy and we sat in there and floated around. That was FUN!

After the kids went to bed we hung out on the porch and talked.
(Julie's husband, Jason, Daddy, Mommy, Uncle Ray, Uncle Douglas, cousin John)

After dinner the Irish Dancing girls (aka Jennifer, Katie and Rachel) would entertain us with their award winning dances!

Since it was so close to Michael's birthday we decided to have a birthday party.

We played with bubbles too.

After Warner's we drove into San Diego and spent the night at Great Grandma's house. She passed away in 2005 and we miss her a lot. Great Grandma (and Papa) moved into this house in the early 50's so this is the house my Mommy went to as a little girl. She thought is was fun (and sentimental) to watch Abby and I run around like she used to. We ran out the kitchen, onto the Lanai, into the hallway, through the living room, through the dining room, into the kitchen and around again. We even went down into the back yard and shook the Orange tree - those oranges were SOOOOO good. We spent a lot of time sitting on the Lanai.

The sun setting from the Lanai at Great Grandma's. Another beautiful California evening.

Goofing off while we waited for the our plane home.

Whewwwww - vacation is so exhausting!

Thanks Grandma and Papa (and Great Uncle John) for such a great trip we can't wait to go again next year!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL!!!!

On July 4, 2003 at 10:56pm Michael Benjamin was born!
He was 7lbs 15oz and 22in

Continuing my tradition of not liking being sung to...

Mommy made dirt desert instead of cake - this is me saying "this is goooooooood!"
Even Uncle Josh loved it!

My present from Mommy and Daddy was almost as big as me! (It was a Thomas the Train set)

Both Abby and I really loved the train set - Thank you Mommy and Daddy and Nana and Dzia Dzia!!!!

Nana and Dzia Dzia also got me a scooter which is just the coolest thing EVER!

Aunt Amanda and Uncle Josh came over and spent the day with us. After Abby went to bed we went outside to set off fireworks. I didn't like them. After one really loud one I got off Aunt Amanda's lap and said "I'm going inside now and going to bed."...and I did.

pssst - guess what!? Aunt Amanda and Uncle Josh are going to have a baby!!!

Thomas the Train!

On June 24th Mommy and I (along with my friend Austin and his mommy Leslie) went to see Thomas the Train! I wasn't too into Thomas before hand but I sure am now - hee hee. There was LOTS to do at the "Day Out with Thomas" event. The best part was getting to ride on Thomas. We sat in the car right behind the engine and took a great 30min trip into the Cascade Mountains.
Did I mention that we had to take a school bus from the parking lot to the train station? I was SO EXCITED!!!!! I LOVE school buses and this was almost as cool as seeing Thomas.
Mommy opted out of waiting in line and paying for a 'professional' picture of me standing in front of Thomas...she thinks this picture does just fine. (that's my friend Austin next to me)
"Can we ride on Thomas yet Mom?"
(the natives get a little restless waiting to get on Thomas)

Our train ride.
I didn't want to take time away from look at all the cool stuff to smile for a picture. We even rode past a waterfall!
Me standing by the back of the Thomas engine.
Mommy had LOTS of fun with me - she said it was nice to spend time with just her boy.

Besides riding on Thomas there was a lot to do that day. They had a maze made out of hay bales. I figured it out right away but kept going back in to help other kids who got stuck (I'm such a nice guy!).
"I see you Mommy!"
The first thing I did was get a Thomas 'tatoo' on my hand - I was very proud of it.
After the big train ride Mommy and I went on a very little train ride.

My favorite part may have been the big table set up with Thomas train sets. I think I would have liked to stay here and play forever - but we had to go home.

Nothing like Daddy....

Sometimes you just need
your Daddy and my Daddy
is the best!

School's Out for Summer!

My last day of school was in May. We had a big picnic for lunch and both Mommy and Daddy came.

I really really really liked my teacher Mrs. Denise! I'm going to miss her lots...She said I'll have to come back next year and give her lots of hugs!

My teacher Mrs. Connie and Me

Whewwww! Running around makes me really thirsty!

Mmmmmm brownie!

I took this picture of Mommy and Daddy. Mommy says she has a silly expression because she had food in her mouth when I took the picture. I'm good at taking pictures.

I had lots of fun playing with my friends Tucker (middle) and Eli (far right). I'm really looking forward to school next year. I'll get to go 3 days a week and Abby is going to go too (2 days a week). I will miss my teacher Mrs. Denise and Mrs. Connie but I'm excited to make new friends.
