New School

We are very lucky to have a beautiful school within walking distance from our house. It just opened this year and is amazing. The kids LOVE it. This was taken on their first day of school. See all that yummy morning sun on their faces? It is sunny 6 out of 7 days here...LOVE IT!

Goodbye Franklin

The kids had their last day of school at Franklin on Friday, January 21st. Michael's class had a friendship circle at the end of the day to say goodbye. Each kid said something they liked about Michael and a wish for his future. Michael asked me not to come but I heard that the kids had just wonderful things to say about him and a couple kids cried. We loved our time at Franklin and will really miss our family (real family - that is where their cousins attend and the music teacher is my aunt and our Franklin family).

Owen and Abby are best friends. Owen has declared that he will marry Abby and they are going to live across the street from his parents. His mom told me that when Abby would come over to play and Owen would get in trouble Abby would defend him "Well Miss Katie...Owen didn't really mean to do that." :) Owen asked his mom sadly "But who will be my best friend when Abby leaves?" :( Good thing we will still be able to visit!

Oats n Peas and Barley...

Abby LOVES to sing...here she is singing (and dancing) to one of her favorite songs from preschool. It is called "How Oats and Peas and Barley Grow."

Michael's Winter Concert

I had my winter program at school today. This year the theme was 'Animals.' Daddy had a meeting at work (the concert was during school) so he couldn't be there. Mommy, Grandpa, Aunt Amanda and baby Clare came to see me though. I did really good. I did get a little frustrated with the little boy who stood next to me. He kept getting in my personal space and I didn't like that very much. But I had a really good time!

This is both the 1/2 day kindergarten classes. My class in the one on the left...I'm in the very middle. Baby Clare really liked the music and danced along.

Pumpkin Patch Time!

It is pumpkin patch time again! This year was not nearly as muddy and cold as the past two years. Mommy brought plenty of wipes to the lower fields (where the pumpkins were) but didn't need them. I loved searching for the perfect 'little' pumpkin for me, da baby, and daddy.

Michael's First Day of Kindergarten!

I started Kindergarten today! The kindergarten has a stagger start where half the class goes on one day and then the other half goes the second day and then the whole class meets the third day. It was kind of hard to watch all the other kids go to school and have to wait my turn but it was all worth it at the end. I've come a far way since my first day of preschool.

Here I am in front of my school. Daddy drops me off everyday. This is actually the same school my mommy went to for K-5...my classroom was her 1st grade classroom...weird! I'm also very excited that my Aunt Fessy is my music teacher...although my teacher told me I have to call her Mrs. McCormick.

Abby's First Day of School!

On September 4th Abby started her first day (this year) of preschool. She is in the 3 year old class and actually has the same teacher as last year (which really pleased her). Thank you Nana for the pretty clothes!

Michael doesn't start school until next week so he got to stay home with Mommy...they went out for pancakes.

This is me with my best friend Olivia (Livi). She is in my class this year. She comes over to play at our house twice a week while her mommy works. Her big brother, Landon, is in Michael's class too!

The first thing we do at school is wash our hands. I'm not scowling here, Mommy just caught me as I turned around and before I could smile. I super like school!
